Back to Back Jacks for Sarries
The Women and the Men made a night of their first back to back games at Maple Grove Rugby Park.
The Women Kick-offed first against the big strong rowdies and took it to them early and often, scores came from Kari Johnson, Aimee Finley, two from Halie Fresien & Katie Wilson, and a very impressive try from rookie Flo Macalalad on her debut. Claire Finnbaggason was named Princess of the Pitch adding 6 converts, a decisive 50-26 victory for the Saracens who sit 2nd in the table.
The Men followed with a game v. Assassins ii which featured a number of debut starts for the men. The Assassins roared out of the gate, but being a consistent second half team the Saracens came flying back, with full time gone Adam Ellis took a quick tab free-kick and sent it on to Breadon "G2" Forbes who did the rest of the work scoring an amazing solo effort try to tie the game, and earn him man of the match. Colin Fraser added the convert to earn a second straight win for the Saracen men. Other try scorers were, Nick "Jesus" Devine, Iian Ashcroft, Devon Adamson, Adam Ellis, and Riley Laurens picking up his first try. Colin Fraser added the rest off his boot for a last minute 37-35 victory.
